In the good old days, and in this context we’re talking of say 20 years ago, it was necessary to employ a fully trained commercial artist when one of our clients wanted to see a visual for their proposed exhibition trailer or mobile library. Such artists were few and far between, and being somewhat expensive on a full time basis, it was normal practice to find two or three good freelance artists locally, and use their services as and when required.

Our own in house engineering design team would be called upon to produce, by hand, detailed technical drawings (a process little changed since the days of the design shop for the Titanic) from which such visuals would be developed. All in all a lot of incredible, time consuming, work which was often of a very repetitive nature. Tweak or change one bit and a major re-draw was required….again oh so time consuming. Following this the drawing had to be posted to the client.

With the advent of computer aided design (CAD) our lives and the service we could offer clients changed overnight and forever. Reminding us very much of that time, nigh on 50 years ago, when the first commercial fax machines became available to themselves transform communication with clients. Apologies of course being due here to all those of an age who wonder what on earth a fax (actually a facsimile) machine is or was (best to ask your parents rather than a lengthy explanation here!)

With CAD we can combine the scaled engineering drawings with the ability to convert these automatically into a visual good enough for presentations to executive committees of all levels. The adage that a picture paints a thousand words is as true today as it was when originally stated (and not sure when that was!!).

So our ability to prepare, for you, scaled drawings and visuals within a fraction of the time it used to take (and to be honest at less cost) helps everyone. It enables us to show you how we see a finished exhibition vehicle or event trailer looking when built, and in turn allows you to present your ideas and intentions to your colleagues, many of whom will find pictures much more understandable than any written report.
